And their retinaldehyde

Found in rhodopsin it’s

Got a bond shaped as cis

But it changes its state

When a photon gets it straight

Then the sign’ling kicks in

Thanks to a transducin

Cuz its GTP ways

Turn on diesterase

So gated ion channels stop

Charges from passing through

Such as sod-i-um plus one

And cal-ci-um plus two
